Peachland to Rattlesnake Island

Enjoy a paddle across the lake from the quaint township of Peachland to explore the area referred to locally as "Ogopogo's lair." One of only two Okanagan islands, Rattlesnake Island has a unique history and still bares the remains of an unsuccessful theme park. You'll quickly understand why the local first nation people believed Okanagan's mythical lake serpent "Ogopogo" made Rattle Snake Island it's home.

Historic Lower Summerland is home to a brilliant pub right on the water known simply as "Local". You'll Feel like a local as you arrive by Kayak for a well deserved pint. Participants will spend the first 2 days training and prepping for their journey as they help they learn about trip planning from menus to risk management. On the third day the group will head out for 3 days and 2 nights of Kayak Camping through the Okanagan Provincial Park.

Beat the Heat - Intermediate Guided Ride

Myra Canyon Guided Tour

Cruise on the gentlest of downhill grades through the world famous historic area of the KVR rail trail known as Myra Canyon, learn all the incredible history of the wooden railway trestle bridges original construction and their subsequent recreation after devastating forest fires all but destroyed them. Carry on cruising the converted railway bed to Penticton, explore tunnels, stop at Chute lake Lodge for pie and a history lesson and take in some of the most stunning views you'll ever witness. Chute Lake Shuttle

Let us take you to Chute Lake for your Kettle Valley Trail experience. Approximately a 45 min trip, if pre-arranged we are happy to pick your group up at your accommodations in Penticton or we can meet you at our building at 131 Ellis Street where parking is available and where our shuttle depart daily at 9:30am. Pre-booking is recommended to reserve your space. We take special care in protecting your bike for transport. This is a fun, comfortable and informative shuttle to Chute Lake/KVR access. Myra Canyon Shuttles

Explore the magnificent MYRA Canyon trestle bridges by bike, or foot. These wonders of engineering are a MUST SEE for any visitor to the area. Enjoy a relaxing informative shuttle in our bus to the start of the Myra Canyon on the KVR Trail access point on the east side of Kelowna. Our vehicle can transport your bike safely with out damage. We can pick you up at your accommodation in Penticton or meet at building at 131 Ellis Street where there is parking available nearby.

Join our qualified Guides for a 5 hour rock climbing session at the world renowned Skaha Bluffs! Custom-made for any level of climber from: 'never climbed' to 'didn't have space to pack my gear while traveling'; we can help you out.

Note:  Our cancellation policy states 25% loss if cancelling 10-14 days prior, 50% for 7-10 days prior, and the full amount if less than 7 full days. If a Guided trip is cancelled throughout your time with us due to the purposes of bad weather, your package fee will be adjusted accordingly, however this is only valid if cancellation is done by Hoodoo Adventure Company because bad weather is of safety concern. In this situation you may also be offered an alternative activity or location.

Carmi and Ellis Ridge - Beginner

The dark spires of burned tree trunks rise out of clouds of newly-green bushes and undergrowth in the Ellis Ridge area east of Penticton; a stark reminder that a devastating forest fire in 1994 claimed 5500 hectares of forest and 18 homes. The force of fire and the wonder of water's effects in this ecosystem are the focus of two short trail systems created at the informative Garnet Fire Interpretive Site on the Ellis Ridge above Penticton.

Brent Mountain at Apex - Intermediate

Leading into alpine/sub-alpine regions through a protected area rich with small fauna and mountain flora and peaking at an old fire watch tower you will experience views of Apex Ski Hill, Summerland and Kelowna in the far distance. The hike has some steeper sections at the beginning and end. It starts at an elevation of 5900 feet and reaches an elevation of 7200 feet.

Keremeos Creek - Beginner to Intermediate

Running between Apex Mountain Resort and Green Mountain Road this trail offers stunning views of the valley, creek and wilderness. Get a unique view of the local ski hill and take in the gorgeous wild flowers. This trail is fantastic!

Skaha Bluffs - Beginner to Intermediate

This Provincial Park provides a variety of recreation opportunities including hiking, rock climbing and wildlife viewing while also protecting habitat for a variety of species at risk. The Bluffs are a series of north-south canyons with cliffs of up to 80 metres on either side, providing some shady respite from the summer heat of the Okanagan.

McIntyre Bluff - Beginner to Intermediate

From this spectacular and spiritual landmark you can experience unbeatable views up and down the valley or look 1000 feet straight down into the Okanagan River. In the spring there are wild flowers abound and the vista from the bluff is awesome!

Okanagan Mountain Park - Intermediate

This Provincial Park spreads over 10,000 hectares with rugged landscape, mountain lakes, grasslands and spruce-fir forests accessible only on foot, horseback or bicycle.

Note:  Trails and rustic campsites are the only facilities in this area of the wilderness. A wonderful setting for hikers – a climb to the top of Okanagan Mountain will lead you to beautiful scenic lake views to the west and the Monashee Mountains to the east.

Snowshoeing - 2 Hour Tour

The good news is that anyone who can walk can snowshoe. There are many reasons to enjoy the benefits of snowshoeing; it's fun, affordable, easy to learn and great exercise. It is an entertaining, social, group activity that allows you to get out and enjoy the great outdoors in the winter months. Enjoy the glistening snowy white pines, the sound of the snow crunching beneath your feet and the Whiskey Jacks as they swoop down to greet you. Our knowledgeable Guides will share with you the history, flora and fauna of the area as you explore a winter wonderland.

Note:  This easy going tour is available upon request Thursday through Sunday with a minimum of 2 people per tour.

Experience the adventure capital of the world and a cultural experience like no other!

Schedule:

Day 1-5:
Arrive in Auckland, load into the mini-van and make our way 45 minutes north. Stay in a traditional Kiwi batch right on the beach in Waiwera. Spend 7 days relaxing and island hopping on day long sea kayaking trips, return to the bach at the end of the day and relax on the beach or site see with your guide. Snorkel at Goat Island and check out the fish from a glass bottom boat. Your guide will assure the week is packed full of fun and exciting things to do, it’s your choice to go along or just relax back at the beach.

Day 5-8:
Head to to coastal town of Hahei on the Cormandel Peninsula and spend 3 days paddling to beaches rated amongst the most beautiful in the world! Visit Hot Water Beach and lounge in your own personal beach hot spring, all while staying at a traditional NZ beach house.

Day 8-11
Head to the rugged West coast for a day of trekking and a day of canyoning! Spending 2 days at a surf bach at the popular Piha surf beach; experience some true kiwi culture as you enjoy the stunning views and day hikes from your front door.

Day 11-12
Take a harbor ferry to hike to the topof the Rangitoto Volcano, wine tour Waiheke Island and site see around Auckland; including Kelly Tarltons Underwater World, the Auckland Museum and more.
